There are only a few days to go now and the final preparations are well under way. We're busy but excited and looking forward to a great weekend. We thought some of you might find it useful if we provide a few final pieces of information.
About The Heat...
As most of you will be aware, it will be hot on Saturday. The current forecast in Melbourne is for 38 degrees, but it's always a bit cooler on the Island, so we're hopeful for low Thirties. It's also expected that the wind will change to a southwesterly during the afteroon, which should provide a bit of relief. We will provide some shade with the marquee and some market umbrellas but try to come prepared with anything you can think of.
About Getting There...
If your driving down on the Saturday, we recommend you try to get away early. It generally takes about 1 hr 45 min from the inner suburbs with a good run, but it's likely you'll need more time this weekend. We're happy for guests to arrive any time before the ceremony. The official address of the property has now changed to 134 Smiths Beach Rd. It's 1.34 km south of the Phillip Island Tourist Rd, but it's closer to Back Beach Rd, second driveway on the left. Non-campers will park in the northern neighbours' lot. Everything will be sign-posted. If you're unsure, see the Google map in an earlier post.
About Camping...
There's lots of room for campers. We've hired a portable bathroom with a shower so you can freshen up and we'll provide a simple breaky in the morning to get you through 'til we fire up the Bar-B.
